Its’ a shame that the good, honest, hard-working people are run out of that office, and all the thieves get to stay on and keep doing their thing. I’m surprised the good people of Bronxville let them get away with this crap; cause these are people who have no regard for the law or the privacy of your personal information and HIPPA Rights.

    I urge anyone who has been treated badly by this healthcare facility to come forward. If you’ve been fired for swiping another employee in or out; you should be outraged because this is something they’ve gotten away with in the tellecom. dept. for years, as this is something I witnessed it with my own eyes. There’s a junior VP, James, who is in charge of all the service jobs; he’s probably getting his helmet shined by Tara, because I can’t think of any other reason why he’d let them get away with something that many people were fired over. I urge anyone who saw the construction in the lobby being done from January on through the end of July to come forward. According to the Permit that they sometimes displayed, the date it was issued was in May. If you saw work going on after 6:00 PM and on weekends, come forward; and especially if you saw the undocumented Hispanic laborers who worked on the project throughout, these were jobs that were taken away from construction workers who should have been given the work. I’d be outraged if I were them. Most important, if you saw work going on in the corridor between the main lobby and the ER doors that lead out to the ambulance bay, from around January 7 to 17th and you saw an asbestos abatement sign posted please contact me (if you choose to be anonymous don’t bother contacting me, I don’t do anything anonymously). Apparently, the voice of one doesn’t count but if other people come forward then they wouldn’t get away with this crap. Bronxville residents (and especially those who live across from the hospital) would be crazy to let them build this 30 million dollar cancer center. They are a bunch of liars, whom engage in criminal activity on a daily basis.

    I don’t care what anybody says, it is illegal to make an operator work a 12 hour shift with no lunch or breaks and other issues as well, like being able to go to the bathroom when (and as long as) needed. They only have 2 security guards there overnight, and they were suppose to call the codes overhead if the operator was in the bathroom but there were many times that I needed to go, and no security guard was in sight; leaving the lobby unprotected and allowing anyone to roam up to the floors putting patients and employees lives at risk. Someone will end up dead there one day, all due to there negligence.

    I use to get complaints at night that the daytime operators were so rude. Many of the irate family members wanted to file a complaint (and probably did) but complaints fall on deaf ears there; they have a lot of big shots on their board of directors. We’ve had bomb threats and a disgruntled worker spread an unknown substance around that tied up the police, fire dept., and haz-med teams for hours but nothing ever winds up in the news. The ironic part of the latter of the two was that I had warned them to stop letting anybody take the keys to Central Sterile Supply without letting them sign for them; it wouldn’t have mattered anyway, they left the door open. All the tax payer money and Fire / Police Department time wasted (about 3 or 4 hours to be exact maybe more).

    The 12 hour shift with no break or lunch was getting old and it’s also illegal. I was unable to leave the post, a 10 foot by 15 foot room with no functional windows, no running water and a bathroom all the way around the bend and down a hall (scary when you consider I’m the one calling the codes overhead). You were screwed if you had to go to the bathroom, when a security guard wasn’t around. Which was often, they only have 2 guards on overnight for the whole hospital. Chances are good that something will happen somewhere in the building (and when the other guard is on break) and the guard has to run to whatever floor or the ER to see what is going on. I had to wait to go to the bathroom many times, cause God forbid I didn’t answer the phone on the first ring. I actually had to double for security often, and I wasn’t trained for that, nor did I have a license to do so because you can’t let people walk into an empty hospital lobby and right up to the floors. Especially on a weekend overnight shift.

    Someone is going to be seriously injured, if not killed, if someone doesn’t do something about it; I worry about friends I have that still work there.

    They cheated me out of my raise too, by making up stuff about me that wasn’t true. Same stuff that the other operators are extremely guilty of, but I seem to be the one being singled out. Harassment is almost impossible to prove. The deck is stacked against the employee; the laws are written to protect the employer. I was basically told I’d have to be fired before anybody could do anything. This isn’t about me, it’s about the fact that I refused to recant a statement I made about an illegal abatement job that landed me in the ER. A job they didn’t have a permit for, and had illegal workers working after hours and on the weekends. So they got away with it because when I tried to look into the matter, and see if they had a permit to do asbestos abatement, all I got was the run-around.

    This is the same woman that ratted out her fellow operators (by complaining to me for 12 hours at a clip), that the other operators were stealing from the company by clocking each other in and out. What she failed to tell me was that she was also guilty of the same crime. She wasn’t the only one who ratted, two other operators told me the very same story (and then some); one of whom wound up quitting over all this BS. These are the people that have access to all your personal information, all our doctors personal contact numbers and home addresses. Not to mention credit card numbers in the TV Rental systems. So needless to say, I wasn’t going to sit there and do or say nothing about it because that would make me just as guilty as them. I went to the guy who hired me, because I’m honest (remember, I’m the one who was told I’m too honest to run for ASSembly). Instead the boss made me out to be the bad guy, and I was banished to overnight/weekends. When in reality, I had priority over one of the full daytime positions that had suddenly opened up. No, my supervisor gave it to half of a piece of shit mother daughter team (friends of hers). The snotty bitch she gave the daytime position to had left, giving her one days notice (every operator saw her resignation on my supervisors desk), this was around the time I was hired. All because she was a Per Diem (with a full time job elsewhere) who was angry that I was hired as a Part Time Benefited Employee. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I’m white, and she happens to be black, so of course this moulinyom cried racism.

    Between the asbestos incident and the whistleblowing; I was given a beat evaluation and suspended without pay for a day (for exactly what I don’t know). Every time I ask my boss to put it in writing he either refuses, or gives me the wrong paper work. I’ll never waver from being good to our pt’s, docs, and fellow workers needing the operators help BUT will never say a word to the low-lives that I work with that like to defame my character. I was threatened, and warned not to go to HR and that was my biggest mistake; I should have went right to the director, but once again, I didn’t listen to my gut.

    I don’t have nothing against black people, except to two racist, liars and thieves I work with; because there is nothing lower than someone who steals from the very company that pays your rent and puts fried chicken and watermelon on your plate. Free TV for all the low-lives they know from Mt. Vermon (whom also happen to be black), and nothing but rudeness for our white patients. They have access to your Medical Records too. But I’m the bad guy when I say something. Wow, that’s pretty good alright. Oh yeah, they have a moonlighting pig that works in security, who has been coaching them. You know the very same kind that the FBI say are 30% corrupt. Are cops even allowed to moonlight like that?

She left a voicemail on Saturday but I didn’t receive it till today cause Verizon stinks and I’ve really had it with them and their Bait & Switch BS and bad service in general. I wouldn’t get FIOS if they gave it to me at this point. I’m still in a fog but trying not to sleep yet another beautiful day away; I worked an extra night last night (for ConEd pretty much, LoL). I went in an hour later and got to leave an hour earlier, quite helpful cause by night 4, I’m shot. Sundays are much mellower than my nights.

    That’s the one thing I sometimes don’t like about my job, you really don’t get to have a life when you work weekend nights. Usually I don’t mind because there’s nothing in the neighborhood to do and the timing is perfect for traveling in the badlands of the Bronx. I leave for work when all of the low lives are starting to come to life, and go home when their sleeping it off. I’m wondering out loud if I’m going to be doing this for the long haul; it’s a thankless job. I don’t see people on the night shift ever getting written up for any Big Heart awards, people who most deserve them. Nope, instead all the daytime people get written up for doing their jobs. Once in a while you hear a good one where someone actually saved a life, and/or actually made a difference. Personally, I’d be embarrassed to except an award for doing my job. One of my coworkers received a Big Heart for being alert enough to notice a customer of ours was choking and got help for them, another got one for saving a coworkers life who was having a serious heart issue and getting him the help he needed just in the nic of time (he wound up having heart surgery STAT), now for something like that I think they deserve it.

    Luckily, the shift I work is very unusual in that all of us get along very well and work as a unit, a fine oiled machine. We all help each-other out, and I think we all look forward to working with one another and avoid banging out at all costs. Thursday I had a really bad migraine I worked through, Saturday my adopted son CJ came in feeling ill, he was clammy and I could tell he wasn’t himself but he didn’t want to bang-out on the A-Team. We do have a few mentally ill people we work with; one guy claims he works for Air-force One. On the fourth of July he flew down to the Gulf in an F16. Oh. Really? Then why are you an overnight security guard? We also have a housekeeper who claims to be a Secret Service officer, with a pension from the Mets too (cause don’t ya know he was a big shot in security there). Oh. Really? Then why are you a janitor? I guess the Secret Service isn’t paying that well these days. LMAO Just a little scary, huh, considering these are the people who are suppose to have your back. A cast of characters alright. We put up with a lot of crap from our customers too. Cause Friday and Saturday is “Drunk Night”. We had a guy try to escape in his under-ware, and he gave one of my friends a run for his money but good thing, he was the right man for the job; if it was the crazy guard, the guy would have wound up jumping 2 stories down to his death. I wonder if I can write Will up for a Big Heart award or if he would feel like me and not want an award for doing your job.

    I can’t think of people who would be more deserving than our men and women who are coming home damaged (in more ways than one).

UPDATE: My Aunt made it through the surgery, and it looks like they got it all in one shot. Thank God/Goddess! I am truly grateful for all the good in my life.

    The one good thing I heard the President was going to do is sign a bill for “Caretakers” of our soldiers who are coming back with TBI’s (traumatic brain injuries). This bill would provide a family member with a $10.oo an hour stipend; which is a lot better than them actually going broke (I can relate). We take better care of people who enter our country illegally than we do our own veterans and injured soldiers. Shame on us, really.

Sometimes I get calls in the middle of the night from patients (usually elderly), they reminds me of my mother and father in the autumn of the years. Their scared, sick, confused (some people ask me what day/date/time it is), and often at the end of their lives. Even the nasty pt’s who will work on your last nerve don’t rouse me; I try to keep in mind that their probably talking to me on the worst day/s of their lives. I guess the service people get (in general) these days is so poor that they’re genuinely surprised when you get hold of a nice person. It’s really sad! I have off tonight, thank goodness, I’m feeling a bit run down these days; probably my diet. I guess you also have to be diligent on a psychic level as well, it would be easy for me to absorb much of the misery around me (if I let it).
